Robots? Your future career may be at risk

Technology in today’s day and age has become very controversial when it comes to robots “taking” place of humans in the workplace. I believe that robots are needed because they are much more accurate than humans and there is less room for error. With robots and artificial intelligence, things can also be produced and completed faster which every American loves. Robots are expected to multiply four times by 2025 to around 3 million jobs replaced by robots or artificial intelligence.

When it comes to precision and accuracy robots can be relied on more than humans because we still allow a substantial room for error. Some delicate tasks like filling prescriptions to the 10,000th pill can be executed many more times in a short span of time with much fewer errors. Another job that a robot will be able to execute better would be something as simple as a stockroom worker. As a stockroom worker, the robot would be able to put away the supplies in the correct order faster and more efficiently by reading a special code then delivering that package to the corresponding location connected to that special code. Even some popular cruise lines have robots for bartenders which can help so nobody gets over served and makes a fool of themselves or the cruise line.

Robots are more effective in the workplace than humans because things can be produced at a much faster rate.  There has been a robot that has been getting popular for its bricklaying skills. This new robot “SAM” is capable of laying 3,000 bricks per day which is about 500 times faster than a human. Comparing bricklaying efficiency between a human and SAM is very different. Taking into consideration that with a human worker they also need to be paid for minimum wage, benefits and other things which will cost a construction firm about 7 times more than a robot. Robots have and probably will always be very controversial when it comes to them replacing human bodies in the workplace but there comes a point where humans need to take a step back and appreciate the beauty that robots bring us.
